Despite prestigious titles and work arrangements, many of us experience daily the struggle to find the energy to get out of bed. Why? I asked myself that question when, despite having obtained what I wanted, (or thought I wanted) and what my parents dreamed for me, I wasn't happy. I had lost my connection to creativity, curiosity and imagination.
Too many of us get stuck because we learned to be efficient as an assembly line and forgot how creative we can be. We are taught that business can be assembled by following instructions or a plug in blueprint. Attach A to B, to your marketing funnel, your sales pitch, your content development strategy to your offering, and et voila!
Of course, these elements are important and necessary to building a business, as the harmonic scale is essential for composing a symphony. But if that symphony is simply a collection of major and minor tunes, it would not transport us into new worlds. It would not open our hearts, expand our minds or enable the full harmonic potential it carries to blossom.
If, instead, we look at creating businesses that support our flourishing, we see unfolding before our eyes a creative and regenerative journey. Such businesses become transformative developmental paths. Each step we take on this path is a step into our own becoming. Each step is a dialogue creating a new world. Each step creates us and whom and what we serve. This is the expression of the creative essence of work.
Both art and entrepreneurship represent the capacity of the human spirit for creation and innovation. I invite you to reconnect with creativity and imagination.
