"The world is beautiful but not sayable. That's why we need art." -Simic
We make art because making it grows us. Because it makes us more human. Because it’s thrilling to create a world that did not exist before we brought it into being.
What does need us and our heARTs to become real?
This inquiry requires our willingness to dance with uncertainty, to explore the mystery, to be flexible, spontaneous, devoted, even when we don’t know where we’re going. Even when it feels like we’ve no idea what we’re doing, or what awaits at the end of our journey.
There are no guarantees of success nor assurance of mastery, comfort, prosperity, ease, certainty, status, fame and acceptance. Will you do it anyway? Will you do it because it needs YOU to become real?
It is important to understand the impact we really have not only in terms of "justification" but especially in terms of responsibilities. I invite you to start reflecting on impact not only in terms of "business case" but as a responsibility.
The ultimate impact to me is evolution. The evolution of Being.
For evolution to happen we must expand not only in one dimension but in all dimensions that compose our being: emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual. When we connect with life’s evolution (which is not merely growth) we realise that the truest impact is to be fully alive and support the aliveness of everything around us.
What if we would start our day by asking ourselves:
What kind of world do I want to live in?
What the world needs me to BE?
What the world needs me to take responsibility on?
Maybe the world needs us to BE like a POEM.
"I sense the world might be more dreamlike, metaphorical, and poetic than we currently believe--but just as irrational as sympathetic magic when looked at in a typically scientific way. I wouldn't be surprised if poetry--poetry in the broadest sense, in the sense of a world filled with metaphor, rhyme, and recurring patterns, shapes, and designs--is how the world works. The world isn't logical, it's a song. Poetry is how the world works." David Byrne
