In the vast expanse of time, crises stand as pivotal moments where the currents of the past and the future converge. It is at this meeting point that we, as guardians of our existence, are faced with a profound choice—freedom or stagnation.
The dichotomy between the past and the future unfolds like a narrative, with crisis as the defining chapter that demands our attention and decisions.
At the heart of every crisis lies a reflection of the past, echoing the choices, actions, and consequences that have shaped our journey to the present. The past, in all its complexity, acts as the current that propels us forward or threatens to anchor us in a cycle of repetition. The mistakes and triumphs, the lessons and oversights—all become magnified in the crucible of crisis, urging us to confront our history and decide whether we are bound by it or liberated from its constraints.
Simultaneously, crises serve as a bridge to the future—an uncertain landscape shaped by the choices we make in the present. The future is the second current in this meeting point, carrying the potential for progress, innovation, and transformation. It beckons us to embrace freedom, to choose differently, and to envision a new reality born out of the crucible of crisis.
However, this future is not a passive force; it is molded by our actions, decisions, and the freedom we exercise in times of upheaval.
As guardians standing at the threshold of crisis, we are tasked with navigating these currents, understanding their interplay, and choosing the path that leads to freedom.
Freedom, in this context, is the conscious act of shaping our destiny. It is the recognition that crises are not only challenges but opportunities for evolution, discovery, and expression.
The past, with its weight and inertia, tempts us to cling to familiar patterns, to resist, and to succumb to the illusion of security in stagnation. Yet, true freedom lies in acknowledging the past as a guide rather than a shackle. It is the wisdom gained from history that empowers us to make informed decisions, learning from our predecessors while avoiding the pitfalls that have hindered progress.
On the other hand, the future invites us to dream, to innovate, and to envision a world that transcends the limitations of the present. Embracing this current requires courage—the courage to face the unknown, to challenge the status quo, and to believe in our capacity to flourish.
The meeting point of these two currents, the crisis, is where our agency becomes most pronounced. It is a call to pay attention, to listen to what wants to emerge, and to make a conscious choice between the allure of familiarity and the pursuit of freedom.
The great paradox of crisis is that it is both a challenge and a catalyst. It challenges our resilience, tests our resolve, and confronts us with uncomfortable truths. Simultaneously, it catalyzes transformation, prompting us to reassess priorities, discard outdated paradigms, and construct a new narrative for our collective journey.
In this meeting point of currents, our choices echo through time, shaping the legacy we leave for future generations. The guardians of this threshold must recognize that freedom is not a passive inheritance but an active commitment—a commitment to learn from the past, engage with the present, and imagine the contours of the future.
As we stand at the crossroads of crisis, let us not be paralyzed by fear or shackled by the burdens of history. Instead, let us be the courageous creatives of our destiny, embracing the dynamic interplay of past and future, and choosing the path that leads to a liberated, empowered, and ever-evolving existence. Make time, and space, may this be the beginning of a deeper exploration into the human evolutionary experience in face of crisis.

I want to talk business in rhyme
(From The Whisper, adjusted for TEDx Lugano September 2017)
Once we become aware of the ecology of our choices (and the learnings that they bring) we feel more fluid and spacious when confronted with crisis, holding the space for curiosity and exploration where before there was contraction and control. Choose to work with me if you are feeling stagnant and instead want to expand in freedom.
