Deliberate Practice

Too often we aim to compare ourselves to the best of the best that we fail to even get started learning a new skill. But what does progress over perfection (aka deliberate practice) look like in action?

Watch the inspiring video of Nathaniel Drew who to overcome procrastination took 1,000 photos in a week.

“The habit of always putting off an experience until you can afford it, or until the time is right, or until you know how to do it is one of the greatest burglars of joy. Be deliberate, but once you’ve made up your mind–jump in.”– Charles R. Swindoll

Like Nathaniel in 2017 I decided I wanted more Freedom, Love, r-Evolution (Freevolution) in my life. Only the idea scared me. I didn’t know how that would look like nor how I could ever get there. I then decided to take it one day at the time. With the word Freevolution in mind, every day I ventured in the world to seek what that would look like.

2017 was also the year The Whisper was published. I had no online or social media presence. Freevolution became a public practice that has also helped me to create my own way to be online and "social".

Little did I know that my deliberate practice was going to be a book, a year long creative inspiration for those who want to draw a map back to their whole and highest self, one day at the time, one creative practice at the time, deliberately and incrementally progressing.

What might stop us? Procrastination!

I have written for Thrive Global on the ways in which you can overcome procrastination. Especially targeted for the creative souls (all of us) out there. You can read it here .

Perfectionism and procrastination are a temptation we fall prey of... I do. Self-inquiry and creativity have always helped me see those traps. With everything I have learnt and deliberately practiced I have designed a 4-Week deliberate practice you can take at your own pace and in the comfort of your home.

We start May 1st: the journey of becoming creatively and deliberate about discovering who you truly are and what you truly want.

You get to be deliberate about your own recipe of joy, life, success. You get to design a practice that is yours and works with the rhythm of your life. If this sounds like something you need and want to do right now, please register here and, if you need more information please let me know.

RNEWB offers a robust offering of talks, workshops and programs that use storytelling, poetry and heARTistry in an innovative and yet practical methodology that has helped leaders and teams to reach their goals, tap into their creativity, broaden their awareness and improve trust within the organisations they lead. For more information please visit www.rnewb.com and feel free to get in contact.
